How Can You Choose Your Seat on Cathay Pacific Flights?

Cathay Pacific understands the importance of choosing one’s desired seat on a flight. It may be possible that you want to sit by the window or near the aisle to make your passage easier. Thus, you must choose your seat by yourself, which you can do in various ways, which can be seen as follows:

  • You can reserve your seat at the time of booking, as you would be provided the option of selecting your seat while booking your air ticket to your desired destination.
  • If you have already purchased your ticket, you can add your seat through the "Manage Booking" section on Cathay Pacific's website or through its customer service centre.
  • Cathay Pacific also allows you to choose your seat at the time of check-in, whether you are checking in online, at the help desk of the airport, or through the kiosk.

What Are the Best Seats in Cathay Pacific Economy Class?

Cathay Pacific Economy Class offers an array of seating options for its passengers. Each type of seat has its specifications and features, so the best seat is based on an individual's preferences. The following section will delve into the various features offered by each type of seat in the Economy class of the mentioned airline; you can choose which kind of seat is suitable for you:

  • Seats in the front of the cabin - A few front rows of the Economy Class are referred to as the Front seats of the cabin. These seats are typically less noisy than the rest of the compartment and allow you to board and deboard easily due to their proximity to the exit gates.
  • Bulkhead seats - The front row of Economy class is referred to as the bulkhead seats of the cabin. These seats have extra leg space from the rest of the cabin, as there are no seats in front of them to block the passengers' space. Moreover, these seats provide faster access for boarding and disembarkment as they are near the aircraft's exit.
  • Seats in the exit row - The Exit rows of the Economy class in Cathay Pacific consist of the seats positioned right next to the plane's exit doors. These are considered the preferred seats of the airline, as these seats provide extra legroom to the passengers. But these seats are not provided to any passenger. They must qualify for the requirements as prescribed by the airline and not be assigned to physically weak passengers, as in case of an emergency, the passenger sitting in the exit row must help evacuate the passengers onboard.
  • Window seats - Travellers who like to look around and observe various things in their environment would prefer window seats, which allow them to have a clear view of their surroundings and a mesmerising view of the land during the aircraft's take-off and landing. Moreover, suppose your flight is scheduled either early morning or evening. In that case, you can take a breathtaking view of the sunrise and sunset, making your journey more memorable.
  • Seats with aisle access - Some may like to sit in seats with aisle access to use the restroom while on the flight and during their disembarkation process. Additionally, if you want to get up and move around the aircraft, you can do so without hesitation or disturbing others. Thus, it is an ideal seat for an older person who may want to move and be away from their seat compared to any other passenger on the aircraft.

Note: Generally, middle seats in the middle row of Economy Class in Cathay Pacific aren't considered ideal seats for anyone, as there is neither access to the window nor to the aisles. However, if you are travelling in a group, these seats may also become fun when you have the opportunity to travel with your loved ones.
